| Abstract: | (from the chapter) This chapter focuses on those Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) modalities for which the most investigations have been employed, such as massage, acupuncture, Reiki, hypnosis, yoga, and Tai Chi. Other CAM domains, such as the use of biologically-based products, including herbal products, supplements and vitamins, have some available data, but not sufficient data to be meaningful in a review such as this. Investigations of chiropractic for the relief of pain will not be reviewed here because there are extensive reviews of this modality which already exist.
