| Abstract: | The article discusses the author's experience of attending yoga classes as an amputee, struggling with a mind-body disconnect all her life. She shares her experience of overhearing a woman struggling to do the pendulum pose, say that she feels like a cripple doing that pose, and remembers her confidence crumbling from hearing that. The author realizes she has imposed a standard of perfection on herself. She eventually became less conscious of her limitations, as she was buoyed by the abilities she does possess. |
