| Abstract: | This paper deals with Jung's psychological commentary on Tantra Yoga, given by him during a seminar in Zurich in 1932. The first chapters outline the sexual components of Tantra, which are not incorporated into Jung's commentary. The second part of the paper highlights Jung's tendency to idealize one particular aspect of Tantra, namely Kundalini-Yoga. Against this background, the paper aims to place Jung's argumentation in the broader philosophical context of the idea of the so called "Noble Savage". |
