| Abstract: | The article focuses on company-sponsored yoga and meditation classes that are materializing everywhere, from the local gym to the corporate boardroom. Yoga and meditation are finding their way into the corporate world primarily because of two factors: stress and rising health-care costs. Studies show that stressed-out employees cost companies billions of dollars a year in health care, not to mention the high price of absenteeism and poor performance. Yoga and meditation have been found effective not only for reducing stress but also for treating illness. INSET: Ten Tips for Implementing a Corporate Yoga or Meditation Program. |
