Abstract: A stress-coping training especially developed for the needs of teachers to enhance their internal and external coping skills is being evaluated. The 10-weeks training consisted of psycho-educative elements, of relaxation methods (yoga, meditation), and of paradigmatic classroom situations. Relevant stress-indicators were assessed in a quasi-experimental approach in a training group (N = 22) and a control group (N = 18) at three times: before and after the training, and six months later. There was reduction of stress-indicators immediately after the training and a long-term reduction of impatience and an increase in the ability to relax ascertained even six months after the training.
