| Abstract: | In his analysis of the spiritual practice of Advaita Vedanta, Professor Basu discusses the four paths of yoga--karma-yoga (action), bhakti-yoga (devotion), raja-yoga (concentration) and jnana-yoga (knowledge of the divine). He shows how the four can be cultivated amidst ordinary life, and he shows further how their practice informed the successful strategy of nonviolence in the American Civil Rights Movement under the leadership of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
