Abstract: Examined the relationship between personality variables and spontaneous psi experience. 1,400 graduate and postgraduate students (aged 17-35 yrs) completed questionnaires concerning beliefs in and experiences with paranormal phenomena, and aspects of temperament such as neuroticism, instability, gregariousness, and self-control. Results show a significant relationship between gregariousness and psi experience for both male and female Ss. As well, Ss who reported more psi experiences reported more feelings of worry, depression, anxiety, tiredness, neurosis, and psychosomatic complaints.
