Abstract: Studied psychophysiological functions in 20 young male university students in 2 groups during dominant right (R) and left (L) nostril breathing (NB), reversing the nostril dominance through a reflex method. Cardiovascular changes indicate that the sympathetic activity increased during RNB and decreased during LNB. Results on cardiovascular changes and psychological task performance indicate that psychological task performance in RNB was without stress and the same performance in LNB was stressful. A better preparedness during dominant RNB and relaxation during LNB are suggested. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2002 APA, all rights reserved)
