| Abstract: | Examined the efficacy of the Broota technique (BT), based on Yogic exercises, and the Jacobson Progressive Relaxation technique (JPRT). 30 test-anxious adults (aged 18-23 yrs) completed Spielberger's Test Anxiety Scale, Anxiety Check List, and self-rating on anxiety pre- and posttreatment. Ss were randomly assigned to BT, JPRT, or control groups. Experimental Ss individually underwent relaxation treatments on 3 consecutive days, while controls individually engaged in conversation with the experimenter. Results show the BT and JPRT techniques were effective in reducing test anxiety. The BT was found to be more effective that the JPRT.
