| Abstract: | Proposes a model that suggests homology between thermodynamic and mental reactions. The model is based on principles of classical thermodynamics and statistical mechanics and relates to affective meaning, motivation, and structural order-disorder changes of images. Corroboration of the model is suggested by measuring affective meaning using C. E. Osgood's semantic differential (Osgood et al, 1978) under various conditions.
