Abstract: Presents a biofeedback (BF) treatment procedure through the use of Alpha wave tones associated with exhalation (breathing out). Hypothesizes that psychogenic relaxation can be obtained through associating exhalation with the mental representation of Alpha wave tones. Jacobsohn progressive relaxation and yoga meditation as methods of relaxation are also mentioned. An experimental model is administered to 20 Ss who range in age from 17 to 30. 10 Ss are classified as highly suggestible and 10 Ss are considered nonsuggestible. Following the administration of suggestivity questionnaires, and Eysenck and Cattell's personality inventories. The control group of 20 Ss is trained with BF relaxation machines. Results indicate that: (1) index Alpha increases the most during BF treatment; (2) the maximum amplitude is attained during provoked relaxation.
