| Abstract: | There is need for productive working relationships rather than antagonistic cooperation between philosophers and psychiatrists. 20th century thought has too many faces. All types of mental healers go to great lengths to 'assure their preeminence in the effort to aid (and influence) men's minds. Liberal and traditionalist societies have lots of yogis 'competing freely' as the saying goes 'in the marketplace of ideas'; totalitarian lands have the infallible Commissar.' |
