Abstract: Examined organizational factors influencing role ambiguity and its dimensions of task and feedback ambiguities. Data were collected from 173 managerial level employees of a young organization and 76 employees of an older organization. The organizational factors of interpersonal relations, formalization, centralization, division of labor, and control were studied. Differences in organizational determinants, and in role ambiguity and its dimensions of task and feedback ambiguities, were observed across the organizations. Multiple regression analysis indicated that the organizational determinants explained more variance in the role ambiguity experience of the older organization.
