| Abstract: | The roots and rhizomes of N. macrospermum vasudevan replace the well-known ayurvedic drug tagara obtained from V. jatamansi Jones in many south Indian pharmacies. The pharmacognostical and preliminary phytochemical analysis of N. macrospermum and a comparison with V. jatamansi are presented. |
