Abstract: Two hypertensive Ss were able to phase out their drug medication when they participated in a program of learning to regularly elevate their palmar GSR. Increase in palmar GSR is known to reflect a drop in arousal, and it is believed that the improvement observed was due to the constant experience of low arousal. Three weeks after cessation of medication a stretching yogic exercise was incorporated into the program, and the Ss were able to remain normotensive with this routine of practice for the last 16 and 42 mo, respectively.
