| Abstract: | Randomly assigned 28 male schizophrenics who were living with relatives high on 'expressed emotion' to 1 of 2 intensive inpatient 10-wk programs: social skills training plus family therapy, or holistic health therapy plus family therapy. The 2 groups showed equal improvement in psychopathology during the inpatient treatment period, but twice as many patients relapsed and required rehospitalization in the holistic health therapy group than in the social skills training group.
