| Abstract: | Modern scientific psychology is essentially a systematization of reactions of personality to the environment . . . . The integral standpoint of Sri Aurobindo's psychological system confidently affirms what personality as a whole is and as such provides a comprehensive basis to reconcile the divergence of the so-called contemporary schools of psychology . . . . All this is capable of giving a new orientation to all our modern psychological knowledge. All this modern knowledge of the activities of mind and behavior . . . can be a rich acquisition for the Indian psychological tradition. To synthesize these two is the most promising pursuit of psychology today.' (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2012 APA, all rights reserved) |
