| Abstract: | In his writings on the method of yoga, Sri Aurobindo developed a psychological system that is empirical and which may contain most of Western psychology and natural science, but which leaves these in the position of being incomplete and limited. Personality is not a complete integer, but is a part of a larger pattern of cosmic evolution. Jung, who is somewhat more complete than other Western psychologists, failed to understand the superconscious, which Aurobindo has studied extensively. The experience of yogi makes more empirical material available, and removes many of the Western a priori assumptions about personality. |
